Become An Ambassador with EFHere at EF, we believe that an exchange year is only the first chapter in a lifetime of self-discovery and global connection. A year abroad is transformative. It's an opportunity for students to strengthen their English, explore a new culture and make family and friends around the world. It's also an opportunity for them to unearth a newfound potential and tap into a lifetime of international exploration.
The EF Ambassador Program is our way of helping our students continue to broaden their cultural understanding of the world. It begins during their exchange year and continues well after they've returned to their home countries. Whether it's helping out at info meetings and fairs, mentoring future students to go abroad or managing EF welcome orientations, the opportunities within the program are endless.
When a student becomes an EF Ambassador, they are joining a community of people who have been changed through their experiences abroad. A exchange year may end, but their discovery of the world has only just begun.
There are many ways to get involved during and beyond a high school exchange year. Learn about the three different kinds of Ambassadors below:
Student Ambassador - All in-country students are invited to apply to become a Student Ambassador at the beginning of the year. We work with them in order to build a community of well-trained and confident individuals who want to share their experiences with future exchange students and explore their natural strengths. They are students who will later return to their home countries as strong Returnee Ambassadors. Read what being a Student Ambassador is all about in our ambassador spotlight: Ander from Spain.
Returnee Ambassador - These are students who have just completed an exchange year and who are looking to continue their cultural journey. They pay it forward by by recruiting and mentoring future students and helping with various returnee projects. Summer Ambassador - These are students who are selected to staff Camp and Welcome Days during the summer following their exchange year. They help welcome the new class of exchange students who are arriving for their year. Summer Ambassadors are selected through an application process that begins in January.
